One of the primary responsibilities of our Aviation Unit is to combat forest fires from the air. This includes water or fire retardant drops to contain and extinguish wildfires. Aircraft, such as helicopters and fixed-wing planes, enable rapid, targeted responses to fires, especially in remote or inaccessible areas, preventing the spread of flames and minimizing damage to the forest ecosystem.
The Aviation Unit conducts regular aerial patrols to detect signs of wildfires. Using advanced sensors and imaging technology, such as infrared cameras, pilots can identify hotspots and smoke, enabling early intervention.
The Aviation Unit provides essential logistical support to forestry operations, including the transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies to otherwise inaccessible areas. This is especially critical during extensive firefighting operations, conservation projects, or when conducting field research, ensuring that teams on the ground have the resources they need to carry out their duties effectively.
